Hi SAINTS army we trust you are well and getting ready for the 2021 hockey season. Hopefully all of you have registered for the 2021 season and looking forward to a healthy and safe Hockey season. On this subject then a BIG WELCOME to all our NEW SAINTS Army members and may your experience with us be very blessed.
Practice times:
Please note that practices for the Saints Hockey Club starts this week!!!! Practice times changed from the previous email I sent, this is due to the National teams practice schedules.
Thursdays (Starting 4 February 2021): 18h30 - 19h30 Ladies & Men 1st, 2nd league & Juniors players 19h30 - 20h30 Ladies & Men Premier & Prem Reserve players Venue: Windhoek Showgrounds Hall - Blue Court
This is currently based on which league you played in last year. If you are new to the club, you can join at the time that suits you the best. After the trials, practice times will be communicated again.
The Namibia Hockey Union are busy planning our hockey year and expect this year to be full off challenges:
Covid19 will make the planning and running of the leagues a challenge, with restrictions possible at any time.
The same applies to the possible further postponement or shifting of AfHF tournaments.
The opening of schools and universities might change, affecting players and teams.
SAINTS TRIALS
The NHU will start with the indoor league in order to allow the national players ample game time in preparation for the upcoming Indoor Africa Cup in April 2021. The proposed league start is 12/13 February and will run until middle April or longer.
To be Pro-active SAINTS Executive have entered no less than 8 x Indoor Teams already and in order to ensure we choose the strongest teams possible into each league, SAINTS will be having a SAINTS Club Indoor Hockey Trials Day as follows:
Date & Times:
Saturday 6th February: 8-10am Ladies club trials
Saturday 6th February: 10-12am Men club trials
Venue: WHK Showgrounds Blue Court
Please note: A Food & Drink KIOSK will be available as well as the K5 Sports Hockey Equipment Shop for all your New Hockey Season Indoor equipment such as Sticks, Shins, Gum Guards, Player Masks, GK Kits, Gloves, Balls and many more goodies.
Please diarise these dates accordingly and lets have a fantastic 2021 Hockey year.
